Cilla Giannopoulos

Concept Based Learning Trainer and Educator

Cilla is an experienced elementary school teacher with a demonstrated history of working in the education management industry. Skilled in Coaching, Communication, Conflict Resolution, Lesson Planning, and Educational Technology.

As a passionate life-long learner and educator she firmly believes in providing every child with a quality education that will prepare them for their future. While studying for her Master's degree in curriculum and Pedagogical leadership, she developed the knowledge and skills which allowed her to bridge the gap between what children need and what is often provided. What has worked in the past will not continue to work in the future.

Cilla's values and desire to continually challenge herself led her to teach at two International Baccalaureate (IB) schools in Saudi Arabia and China. During her nine years working as an educational professional, she has relished the opportunity to engage with, and learn, from a diverse range of colleagues and students ranging from 60+ countries, all with diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences. As a result, she has benefitted immensely from this vast array of differing perspectives and practices.

As a certified Lynn Erickson Concept-Based Curriculum and Instruction trainer, Cilla has offered multi-day workshops to schools in the benefits of concept-based learning and how to implement it, while also giving real-life examples from her practical experiences working with schools. In addition to her primary role as a classroom teacher, she have presented inquiry and concept-based workshops for staff, students and parents; as well as becoming a team leader, responsible for facilitating meetings, developing a team culture, and advocating for the teachers on her team.

She continues to grow both professionally and personally in her goal to redefine what a post-21st century educator is like. Just like her students, Cilla is constantly looking to be inspired, so she, in turn, can inspire others.
